Fall 2021 – Penelope’s Odyssey

Women’s voices. Men listening. Equilibrium.

Inspired by Homer’s epic poem, Penelope’s Odyssey – The Dance is a contemporary reflection on women’s voices, gender roles and societal norms as seen through the lens of time. In this fast-paced, multi-media dance adventure, with video sequences filmed in Greece, eight dancers embody the world of men and women, gods and goddesses, as Penelope awaits her husband‘s return. A single mother raising a son, with suitors knocking at her door to access her power and beauty, Penelope must save herself and the people she loves.
