Process for Developing Assessment for Student Learning
In 2002, Capital established a Student Learning Assessment Implementation Team to develop policies, procedures, models and resources for varied inquiries about student learning at Capital. The Team began by developing a vision and a five year plan. Based on the plan, the team consulted with the faculty of individual college programs to help clarify program goals and design appropriate assessment methods for selected goals. In addition, the team developed and implemented assessments of cross-curricular goals (see General Education) and led in the interpretation of resulting data. The materials collected in these links indicate the direction and vision of this ongoing process. In 2006/7, the Team will develop a new five year plan for the assessment of student learning and work with departments to implement it.
