Save the Date: Celebration of Learning II: Including Words of Gratitude, Monday, November 13, 2017
A year ago Capital Community College highlighted a celebration of learning. Through poster boards, models and discussion, students from various programs demonstrated what they had learned during the semester to the college community. The auditorium was abuzz with excited students sharing knowledge they had discovered and explored.
This semester, students from Pedro Valentin’s art class are sharing their response to The Power of WORD! In the gallery, students have created graffiti art using words that “speak to them.” On Wednesday, students will inaugurate the exhibit. Come to the gallery at 2:00 PM to hear their explanation of their work. In the lobby we have prepared panels for the college community to express Words of Unity, a response to the uncertainty of the times.
Providing a venue to share one’s knowledge through class projects or other culminating activities is a valuable experience for students and the greater college community. It helps to foster an academic community and provides opportunities for our students to learn, share and develop presentation skills.
Therefore, we are planning another WORD event for Fall 2017. Once again students from various programs can share their projects. In addition, an optional theme for projects will be WORDS of Gratitude. The event will take place a week before Thanksgiving. Save the date: Monday, November 13, 2017
If you would like to participate in the Celebration of Learning Fall 2017, please contact me. The more people become involved, the greater the project will be.
