The purpose of New Student Orientation (NSO) is to prepare students to successfully transition to college. The orientation provides students with the tools to become academically and socially successful at Capital Community College. The students will have the opportunity to participate in workshops, campus tours and meet current students, faculty and staff of the college. New Student Orientation is an important step in your success as a college student. All new students must attend.
Students will choose a New Student Orientation session during New Student Registration (NSR) sessions (sign up for a NSR session); there are several NSOs to choose from.
For new students entering in the Fall semester:
Students will choose an NSO based on their selected degree program or career interest. There are also open sessions for Liberal Arts and undecided students. NSR facilitators can help students choose the appropriate NSO session.
For new students entering in the Spring semester:
There are several general sessions to choose from. There is a separate session dedicated to Pre-Nursing students. It is recommended that all students interested in applying for the Nursing program attend this session.
