New Student Information System

myCTState is the new student information system for CT State Community College for all transactions pertaining to Fall 2023. Search for classes, register for the fall semester, transfer in credits, and more. Go to http://my.ctstate.edu to log in with your NetID and password.

Fall Registration

If you have a balance over $500 at any of the Connecticut community colleges, you will not be able to register for Fall 2023 at your home campus or any other CT State campus. Please contact the Bursar’s/Cashier’s office or the Financial Aid office for assistance as soon as possible.

New Students

Capital Community College is becoming CT State Capital on July 1, 2023.

The CT State admissions application is now open.

Select an application below based on when you’d like to enroll.

All continuing, degree-seeking students will become CT State students as of July 1, 2023.

Step 1 – APPLY FOR ADMISSION APPLY NOW

All new students must submit an admissions application. To complete your admissions application, please submit the following:

Provide proof of high school completion. This may be either a high school transcript, diploma or GED.

Provide proof of immunization for measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella. You may download the immunization requirement form.

Step 2 – APPLY FOR FINANCIAL AID

All new students are encouraged to apply for financial aid. Capital Community College provides a variety of financial aid programs in the form of scholarships, grants, loans and jobs to eligible students. The amount and type of aid received is dependent upon the student’s financial need as well as annual federal and state allocations.

Step 3 – TAKE A PLACEMENT TEST

New students are now being placed according to their high school GPA and SAT scores.  Please submit your high school or GED transcript and SAT scores to lsumlin@capitalcc.edu.  Students may also submit questions regarding placement to this email.  For more information on placement testing, please go to Placement Testing.

Step 4 – ACTIVATE YOUR STUDENT EMAIL AND TECHNOLOGY ACCOUNTS

All students will be issued a CT Community College email address. All communication from the school, including information regarding your financial aid award will be sent only to your CT Community College email address. Additionally, At Capital we utilize a software portal called myCommNet that allows you to access your grades, schedule, online coursework and library databases.

STEP 5 – CT State Community College – New Student Online Orientation 

Students are encouraged to complete the CT State Community College – New Student Online orientation prior to meeting with an advisor and or registering for courses. CT State Community College – New Student Online Orientation

 

STEP 6 – ATTEND A NEW STUDENT REGISTRATION (NSR) SESSION

The purpose of Academic Advising is to inform, assist, and transition all new students with 0-15 credits. All New Students (first time to college with no transfer credit) are required to attend a New Student Registration Session to review the steps to a successful semester, become familiar with MyCommNet, and register for first semester courses.

Step 7 – PAY ALL FEES

All fees must be paid and/or your Financial Aid award must be in place within 24 hours of registering for classes. Students who do not will be de-registered from their classes.
