INTRODUCTION TO NURSING PRACTICE

The student will focus on concepts basic to nursing practice. Emphasis is placed
on application of the nursing process, communication skills, and nursing practice
procedure acquisition. Clinical and laboratory experiences offer opportunities
to integrate theoretical principles and demonstrate caring and competence in
beginning professional role development.
Classroom: 60 hours
Clinical: 180 hours (90 hours laboratory, 90 hours clinical)
Pre-requisite Courses: BIO*211: Anatomy & Physiology I; BIO*212: Anatomy &
Physiology II; ENG*101: English Composition
Co-requisite Courses: BIO*235: Microbiology; PSY*111 General Psychology
