EARLY LANGUAGE AND LITERACY DEVELOPMENT

ECE* 231

Language acquisition and age-level characteristics related to speech and language
are discussed. Students explore the children's literature, early childhood language
arts curriculum, including speaking, listening, pre-writing and pre-reading skills
and methods and techniques that enhance speech and language development. This
course may require visits, observation and participation in an early childhood
education setting. Formerly listed as EDUC 231. Prerequisite: ECE* 101.
