Course presents higher-level topics in algebra needed for success in pre-calculus
and, ultimately, the calculus series. Topics include a review of linear, quadratic,
and radical functions, systems of equations, matrix algebra, systems of linear and
nonlinear inequalities, functions, inverse and composite functions, transformations
of functions, laws of logarithms, exponential and logarithmic functions, and conic
sections. Students will model and explore real world applications using the topics
listed. This course requires the use of a graphing calculator (preferably TI-83+).
Prerequisite: Grade of C- or better in MAT* G137, grade of C- or better in MAT*G139,
grade of C- or better in MAT* G184, or qualifying score on Placement Test.
