College Career Pathways (CCP)

College Career Pathways (CCP) at Capital Community College provides high school students with opportunities to complete college-level coursework and earn college credits while pursuing their high school diploma. High school sophomores, juniors, and seniors can earn college credits in a specific career field leading to an associate degree or post-secondary certification. The College Career Pathways program is established with the secondary school when career courses and instructors are identified and approved. Once the partnership is in place, students may choose career and technical courses in fields of study such as:

  • Architecture and Construction
  • Biotechnology
  • Business Management and Administration
  • Education and Training
  • Finance
  • Information Technology
  • Marketing

High school students benefit immensely from the CCP program as it enhances their belief that they are college worthy having demonstrated the ability to complete college level courses. Furthermore, by participating in the CCP program high school students are afforded the opportunity to learn in greater depth what it means to be a college student. Additionally, CCP students are invited to a host of Capital Community College events on the campus and are encouraged to experience classes at CCC. The CCP program is free and students enrolled may earn up to 15 college credits.

When high school students enroll in the CCP program they are investing in their future by securing a lighter load of college classes and reducing the cost of attending college upon high school graduation. High school students graduate with a clear set of goals having already begun the college process and there is a definitive plan in place for their future.
