Capital Community College Summer Computer Science Program

Capital Community College is offering our 4th annual Summer Computer Science Program for middle school students aged 12-15. The Summer Computer Science Program provides a stimulating, active, and fun learning environment for students to explore and learn computer science through hands-on activities.

Capital’s Summer 2017 Computer Science Program is a two-week program scheduled for:

June 19th – June 30th, 2017


Each student in the Summer 2017 Program will study two topics:

Additionally, students will participate in youth development and leadership activities to build:

  • Teamwork and Collaboration Skills
  • Problem-Solving/Critical Thinking Skills
  • Presentation Skills
Program Cost

The Summer Computer Science Program costs $275 per student. Need-based scholarships are available for Hartford and East Hartford residents. Participating students are provided lunch each day throughout the program.


Participating students must have their own transportation to and from the college. Student Drop-Off begins at 8:10am. Student Pick-Up is between 4:10 and 4:30pm.

Who Can Apply?

The Summer Computer Science Program is designed BOTH for students with no knowledge of computer science, and for students with previous knowledge. Previous knowledge is not required – what is required is an interest and eagerness to learn.
