1st-year: Nursing & History

The nursing faculty at Capital Community College use the Isham-Terry House, a historic house museum and property of CT Landmarks located in the Asylum Hill neighborhood. This experience highlights medical care at the turn of the century with discussion of bioethics and medical law. Once home to Dr. Oliver Isham and his medical practice, opportunities at this site include exploring implements and archives as part of clinical experience.

2nd-year: Nursing & Art

Nursing students practice critical observation, consult with colleagues, and engage with aesthetic and creative dimensions of the human psyche in this structured, docent-led tour of the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art. As the oldest continually operating public art museum in the U.S. located a short walk from CCC on Main Street, this partnership welcomes all nursing students to view and discuss art at the museum.
